Lisa Doan

If you weren't able to tell by the giant header of this website, my name is Lisa Doan.

 

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I've had the pleasure of growing up in a diverse and bustling city. My childhood was trademarked by 90s pop music, platform shoes and gel pens; a simpler time that I feel blessed to have been raised in [insert praying hands emoji here].

 

After graduating high school and making some true friends that I am still close with to this day, I made the decision to move away from home and settle in Canada's capital, Ottawa, to pursue a degree in journalism.

Fast forward four years of writing papers, chasing news stories and numerous troublesome roommates, I departed Ottawa with memories I'll keep close my heart forever and a degree in journalism from Carleton University. I made a homecoming to Toronto, in pursuit of landing a full-time job and to be closer to my family.

​

All my life, I've been told that I was lucky. Well, fortune favored me once again because just two months out of university, I landed a job at one of Canada's most successful digital media agencies: theScore. 

​

Working in the esports department as a video producer and editor, I have the pleasure of coming in every day (in casual attire, mind you) to produce video content for the masses who enjoy video games. Tough gig, amirite?

​

And while I've experienced so much so far, I feel like the journey has just begun.
